The Story via WYFF-TV: Small Church's Obama Sign Causes Big Controversy (Video Story Here)

The sign in front of a small church in a small town is causing a big controversy in Jonesville, S.C.

Pastor Roger Byrd said that he just wanted to get people thinking. So last Thursday, he put a new message on the sign at the Jonesville Church of God.

It reads: "Obama, Osama, hmm, are they brothers?"

Byrd said that the message wasn't meant to be racial or political.

"It's simply to cause people to realize and to see what possibly could happen if we were to get someone in there that does not believe in Jesus Christ," he said.

When asked if he believes that Barack Obama is Muslim, Byrd said, "I don't know. See it asks a question: Are they brothers? In other words, is he Muslim ? I don't know. He says he's not. I hope he's not. But I don't know. And it's just something to try to stir people's minds. It was never intended to hurt feelings or to offend anybody."

Obama has said repeatedly during his campaign that he is a Christian and attends Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

Despite some criticism, Byrd says that the message will stay on the sign. He took the issue before his congregation Sunday night, and they decided unanimously to keep it.

Byrd also said he doesn't want it to look like controversy forced him to take the sign down.

I can answer this, We do not know if he is a Muslim or not. We do know for sure, that his Pastor is a former Muslim and a believer and teacher of Black Liberation Theology, a Marxist doctrine. While there are those, who claim to be conservative, who say that this is a stupid thing to do. I personally believe that it is a legitimate thing to ask. We do not know enough about Barack Hussein Obama, and what we do know, quite frankly, makes some of us, who are keenly aware of what happened on September 11, 2001, want to know everything that there is to know about this man, not because he's black, but because of his BACKGROUND.

That is the whole problem, we don't know anything about him, except for what the corporate controlled, government sanitized, Liberal funded Main Stream Media tells us. Which, quite honestly, is not enough.

If you really, dig far enough, you can find that this man has ties, directly, and indirectly, to domestic terrorists.

One must ask themselves, if he's friendly with domestic terrorists, how friendly would he be or how friendly is he with Foreign terrorists? The fact that we do not know this, is what bothers many people. We need change in America, I am keenly aware of this, the problem is, what kind of change is Obama wishing to bring to America?

Until we can know that for sure, there will always be that specter of doubt about this man and his connection to those who wish to harm America.

On April 4, 2008, at a Los Angeles event commemorating the assassination of Martin Luther King, the African-American fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi gave Israeli-American Daphna Ziman its Tom Bradley Award for community service. Then the event's keynote speaker, Reverend Eric Lee, turned to Ms. Ziman and launched an anti-Semitic diatribe. Roger L. Simon interviewed Ms. Ziman.

I look for this to be the big story in the next couple of days.

I am not writing this to defend the actions of Senator Stabenow’s husband. The actions of Thomas Athans were deplorable. If I were the senator, I would be seeing a lawyer and relieving this man of his burden of marriage.

However because the story of Thomas Athans has become the catalyst of great political fodder and blogger ridicule, and outright mocking by those of opposite political ideology. Because of this sort of nonsense, I am writing a simple defense of Senator Stabenow as a Senator of the State of Michigan.  

I am quite aware of Senator Stabenow’s political stance, However, I am also aware of her performance in the Senate. I can personally testify to her consistency in addressing issues brought before her. I have personally e-mailed TONS of issues, brought to my attention by the John Birch Society, to Senator Stabenow’s office.

Senator Stabenow’s office was always faithful to reply to my e-mails to her, sometimes, the replies were even personal, and not a computer generated response, even though I am sure that some of the issues brought to her attention were in direct opposition to her political stance.

Further, of all the political representatives in my local area, other than one other political official for my local area, Senator Stabenow was the ONLY political official who responded to my e-mails, sometimes Senator Stabenow would reply to me personally via United States Mail, Even though she did not have to.

Therefore, I feel that this smearing by the Republican and Conservative Bloggers is just unwarranted. We are not dealing with a seedy politician here. We are dealing with a very nice woman, who has a husband who is an idiot.

I think that the Blogosphere needs to take a step back and leave this woman to sort out her own affairs. I hope that she will do the right thing in the situation regarding her husband.
